just got my 1800fp from the dell deal set up. it feels kind of weird, maybe I'm just not used to an LCD. I noticed a strange thing though - when a highlight an image or text box in IE, whereas on my CRT the image/text box is kind of highlighted in blue, on the LCD it's instead highlighted with a pattern of blue and white vertical bars, not only that, but the bars kind of shimmer...is this supposed to happen?

update: I tried taking a screenshot of what I'm talking about, but the screen shot shimmers too! so I'm thinking it's not resulting from something in IE, but happens for certain patterns of colors?

It is distortion of the signal from your computer to your monitor.

Are you using a dvi or analog connection? This happens to me too with an analog connection. I think DVI would probably clear it up, but i'm not certain because I havent tried upgrading my video card to dvi yet.

analog, I haven't put together my new computer yet (it's going to be DVI)...I was thinking that might be it.

dunno, had my 1800fp hooked up to 2350 via analog for a while, no such problems... prolly doesn't like your vid card
