My sister and I are taking our 4 and 5 year old daughters to Disney World for the 1st time. I have never been and am not sure what to expect. We will be going in Apr or May. We plan to stay at a lower end Disney resort so that we can get all of the benefits (early entrance, late departure from the parks, etc).

How long is long enough for two young girls? We were planning 3 or 4 days.

Has anyone bought the meal plans? They seem like a good deal, but I bought them a few years ago when I went to Universal and was disappointed.

Is there anything we should avoid?

Thanks in advance.

Wow Lots of questions.
Yes, four days is going to be enough - three will also be fine. You will be exhausted after four full days. I personally recommend that you go to a park early in the morning until around 1 or 2. Leave and go to the hotels pool to relax and swim for a few hours and then return to a park around 5 or 6 and stay until it closes. I have done the meal plan for a family of 5 (including two teenage boys). I thought is was a good deal and may actually have been too much food. It was almost hard work to eat everything.
I recommend to everyone that you do a little research --> go to wdwinfo.com. It is a lot of reading but there is a lot of good information and some great tips and deals.
