I have SystemWorks 2003 and schedule NAV to run Friday nights at 8.
Since I've installed this 2003 (2002 expired) the weekly run isn't happening on its own. At the "scan for viruses" there is a little window with a clock that says Fridays/weekly/8pm when you click on it, next to "scan my computer". confused.gif It knows it is scheduled, but doesn't run it.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Alan
Look under Scheduled Tasks within Windows to see if there's an entry for NAV.

If there isn't an entry then that's why it's not running.

If there is an entry, check it's properties and make sure it's enabled, check the "run as" field and make sure it runs off an admin account and check the "schedule" and "settings" tabs to make sure nothing is set to prevent the task from running.

If everything looks OK, then something is probably corrupted somewhere. I would delete the task and reschedule it.

I have had a similar problem on one PC - thanks Alan, I will check and see if that is the proble. It has been an inconvenience, especially when it works perfectly on all other machines.

Found this on Symantec's website.
A scheduled virus scan does not run under Windows 2000 or XP

w00t!! It didn't run AGAIN tonight, so I uninstalled it and cleaned out all Symantec from the Registry and deleted that file Alan told me about- and reinstalled it.

It's working now!!

THANKS! cool.gif
