I'm thinking about messing around with a bit of scripting in order to automate entry into web contests and the like, but I've never done anything like this before. I'm a programmer, so I don't think the programming aspect of it will give me any trouble, but could anyone point in the direction of the best tools to use for this, and have any advice? Do people usually write something like a little VB application for this or are there special tools just for scripting on the web that make it easy?

I dunno about programming your own, but if you don't know jack about programming then Automate is probably a pretty good solution.

I've used MacroExpress for macros, and vb/c# with the webrowser control for more custom stuff...

Another vote for Macro Express. I would find it hard to live without Macro Express. It even downloads my banking info into Quicken every morning at 5am. smile.gif
