Full Version: Terrible Packaging of Software by Staples.com

Seems like it's a lot worse than i remember it. Especially with UPS.

I ordered the CA antivirus the other day and it was basically crushed and folded over by UPS. Doesn't help that Staples used those thin plastic bags with no sort of protection.

I was actually annoyed enough that i didn't even bother opening the actual software and sent it back. The replacement they sent was only half crushed (i guess that's an improvement rolleyesold.gif )

Looks like this is where mine shipped from: UPS, COLUMBUS OH US, ORIGIN SCAN

I know they're trying to save money on shipping costs, but do they really expect customers to be happy with products arriving in this condition?

Anyone else getting the same shoddy shipping?

Yeah, I've received items with a layer of dirt on it and other items with crushed boxes. Kind of looks like the item was dropped from a high distance and landed on a corner.

Yeah, a lot of the stuff I got from Staples (I have not bought anything in a while though) was filthy, and I would need to clean off the packaging before I wanted to touch it.

Staples shipping boxes are the worst.

Office Depot always send me software in plastic bags. It is from a warehouse in IL. Add it on the terrible packing list.

Makes me wonder what type of environment the stuff is stored in and what the people are breathing in all day.

I don't usually have the problem you describe with Staples, but I have definitely had this issue with Office Depot in the past. I bought some software from them where I literally had to use a wet paper towel to wipe off all the black dirt and dust on the box - disgusting.

As to UPS, my UPS driver told me before that it's very common for drivers to "damage" packages for customers they don't like hiding.gif vampire.gif
