I have 1GB DDR2-667 Desktop memory/HP PX976AT

And I am looking at the dell deal garsh posted here.

Dell 531 deal

Will this RAM work?
Alan
It should work. Can't say 100% as some motherboards can be very picky with the type of RAM it likes, however I've installed many different brands in Dell PC's and very rarely had an issue.

I agree with Alan. I've never had an issue, but I haven't done it as much as him.

Although Crucial will tell you what type of memory is needed for a particular make/model of computer, Crucial sells their own brand. Crucial.com will not tell you if HP PX976AT is compatable with a Dell computer as they don't sell HP branded parts.

The Dell 531 uses DDR2-667, but the only real way to know if the stick will work is to install it.

The Crucial system scanner works really well for most systems. If you are still not sure that you are getting the right information for your system, you should try the website of the manufacturer. They often have system scanners that will help you.
