thanks...looks like it's just two security updates
Updated to 3.0.8 a few days ago. No problems so far.
What’s New in Firefox 3.0.9 Firefox 3.0.9 fixes several issues found in Firefox 3.0.8:
- Fixed several security issues.
- Fixed several stability issues.

My "awesome bar" seems to have forgotten my most frequently visited URLs after upgrading. Now I have to type in bargainshare, ctrl+enter, instead of just "bar", down arrow, and enter to get here, otherwise I'll end up at the B$ Twitter page.
Seems like every once in a while my URL bar forgets stuff like that and has to relearn.

you dont use the bookmark toolbar? I just have a string of icons on mine with no names, i know them by the favicon - allows me to have 20 or so sites at the click of a mouse.

Nope, I hide the toolbars so I could have more screen space for browsing (my main PC is a netbook). I haven't used FF's built in bookmarks in a long time either since I use Delicious.
My URL bar doesn't look like it's relearning URLs. I might have to start off with a fresh profile.

Firefox 3.5 'Web upgrade' planned for end of JuneDon't know how they do it, but they always seem reliable when releasing stuff.
QUOTE
Firefox 3.5 comes with a spate of new features--5,000 total, according to Mozilla. Among the major ones: built-in video; local storage to enable richer Web applications that can work even with no network connection; a private browsing mode; geolocation to aid Web pages that can benefit from knowing a user's location; and faster performance loading pages and executing Web-based JavaScript programs.

safari and chrome have been bringing the pressure. Sometimes I switch browsers for speed. Hopefully this reduces that need.

really fast. Even better performance than Chrome.

Same here. I switch browsers for watching video sites like Hulu & YouTube since they play better in Chrome.

Nice! I'll have to update mine ASAP.
haven't tried video yet, but page rendering is definitely noticeable
Waiting for the
Portable Firefox version to be released....
Subjectively seems to be about twice as fast as 3.0 to me. Great upgrade.
updated mine just now. seems faster.
I updated mine yesterday even through 3 of my addons weren't compatible yet. I hope those get updates soon. They're not very popular addons, but I didn't want to hold off on updating just to keep their functionality.
Like everyone else has said, it's faster than the previous version.
Will FF 3 auto update to 3.5 one of these days, or do I need to do it explicitly?

its probably worth it to manual update. FF 3.5 feels faster. It might break some extensions, but its worth it

apparently a major security bug was found which forced them to release such a quick update.

Is there a way to turn off the breakaway tabs feature? I don't like it because it does it when I don't want it to and it's annoying to have to drag the tab back to the original window.
Anyone know what setting to turn off in about:config to do this??

You need the
bug489729 extension.
Duh.
QUOTE (garsh @ 7-22-09, 3:23pm)

You'd think they could give it a more descriptive name.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.
I love the feature in Chrome, but it kind of sucks in FF.
