I was looking at this cheaper cordless desktop setup here from dell:

It shows that you have to plug in a little signal receiver into a ps/2 slot (for keyboard) and a usb slot for mouse.

What I'm wondering is if I can get two of those little signal receivers (maybe have to order two sets of desktops) if I can use that keyboard and mouse on multiple computers. That maybe confusing, so to explain:

I have a home computer and a laptop. I would like to use the same wireless keyboard+mouse on my home computer as on my laptop.

I'm thinking that the signal receiver comes paired with the keyboard already, so if I got another signal receiver it would only receive the signal from the keyboard it came with, not any other one.

Anybody know?

Actually, I'm over complicating things. I would never want to use the mouse+keyboard on 2 machines at the exact same time. So I could just unplug the receiver and plug it into the other computer when ever I want to switch....so I answered my own question.

I believe it either USB or PS/2. If just using USB the PS/2 connector is not needed. It should come with a USB to PS/2 adapter if using just PS/2.

it's hard to say. it depends on how the pairing is done or if it's always using the same channel. however, if the 2 machines you want to share keyboard/mouse with are close in range, you might be controlling both computers at the same time.

i'm not sure if you've heard of products like synergy: http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/
but you should definitely check it out.
