Full Version: Good deals on alkaline batteries, NOT AA size?
bargainshare.com > Internet & Retail Deals > Deal Discussion

I need to buy some C batteries soon, and I realized that I don't really know what a good deal on alkaline batteries are, other than AA's (which always seem to be on sale somewhere).

Anyhow, for the record, you should be able to find AA's for under $0.21 per battery (usually a 48pk for $10) every so often.

But what about the other sizes? I'll try to collect some information in the OP if anyone wants to post some deals as followups. I'm only really interested in alkaline batteries for this thread though, so don't bother posting deals on heavy-duty batteries (and rechargables probably deserve their own thread).

Best deals found to-date:

Size AAA
Batteries.com: 16pk for $5.99 ($0.38 ea.)

Size C
Batteries.com: 6pk for $5.99 ($1 ea.)

Size D
Batteries.com: 8pk for $6.99 ($0.88 ea.)

9 volt
Batteries.com: 4pk for $11.99 ($3 ea.)

I have ordered batteries.com brand batteries in the past, and haven't had any problems at all. I usually go there just because I'm lazy, at this point smile.gif

I've heard good things about Thomas Distributing in the past - they have the C batteries for $0.95@: link

I don't know of anything right now, but check out the cvs, Walgreen's and RA HDA threads in GC for good battery deals.
WingsOverVA
Advance Auto Parts B+M always has the Endurance batteries for $5.88 for 24AA, 24AAA, 12?C and 8?D.

I'm not exactly sure on the quantity of the C and D I'll have to look next time I'm at the store.

Edit: Price in store is $5.88 for 24AA, 24AAA, 8C or 6D

CVS might have a good deal coming up, if I'm reading things correctly.

According to this post, the prices are:

Duracell Alkaline Batteries (AA & AAA 8 pk, C & D 4 pk or 9 Volt 2 pk) $5.29
And according to this post, from 6/17 - 6/23 CVS will have a promotion:

I tried looking up "ECB" in the GC FAQ, but it's not listed. What is it?

Assuming it can be treated as cash, then $10.58 would buy you:
  • 32 AA or AAA ($0.33 ea.)
  • 16 C or D ($0.66 ea.)
  • 8 9-volt ($1.32 ea.)

ECB = Extra Care Bucks Overview

There are manufacturer coupons:
Duracell CopperTop, Ultra Digital, PowerPix, or Ultra PhotoLithium Batteries .75 (some areas received $1/1) that were in the 6/3/07 P&G insert.
ECB accumulates price after sale but before coupons. The ECB can be used on your next CVS order (not script, stamps, alchohl or gift cards)

The prices are as follows:
Duracell AA or AAA 16 pack, C or D 8pk, 9V 4 pk = $9
Duracell AA or AAA 4 pack, C or D 2pk, 9V 1 pk = $3

So, (2) 16 pks AAA = $18 + (1) 4 pk $3 = $21 - (3) $1 manufacturer coupons (what my area gets) = $18 - $10 ECB = $8 or .222 each
(2) 8 pks C or D = $18 (1) 2 pk $3 = $21 - (3) $1 manufacturer coupons (what my area gets) = $18 - $10 ECB = $8 or .444 each
(2) 9V 4 pks + (1) 9V $3 = $21 - (3) $1 manufacturer coupons (what my area gets) = $18 - $10 ECB = $8 or .888 each

Obviously you can mix and match to your hearts content.

ECB do have a limit. Also you can have a card and your wife can have a card. Your ECB wil not, however, work on her card (or vice versa).

Garsh if you need batteries again, clip the coupons that were in last Sunday's paper (10/7/07) and CVS has another deal 10/21 - 10/27/07.
