QUOTE In this undated image released by Epitome Pictures Inc., actor Neil Hope is shown. Hope, who starred as Derek "Wheels" Wheeler on the popular 1980s TV series "Degrassi Junior High" and had little contact with relatives and friends in his final years, died alone in an Ontario rooming house in 2007, his former fiance confirmed Friday, Feb. 17, 2012. Ex-fiance Christina Boulard said Hope's family spent years trying to track him down after hearing rumors of his passing several years ago, but only learned last month from police in Hamilton, Ontario, that he had died. Damn, a heart attack gets another one. Friends used to give me crap because I not only have all of the Monkee LPs, but all of their music on CD too, once it came out. Even though I'm a guy, Davey was always my favorite Monkee.
It was funny but back in the late 70s early 80s when I was flying all of the time I had an apartment right across the street from PalWaukee airport where our planes were based. There was a small "disco" right at the entrance to the apartment complex that would have live bands come in on the weekends. Every so often they would advertise "The Monkees" as being there, but it was always just Peter Tork along with some guy who kind of looked like Mickey up on stage and another guy who really did look like Davey who would hang around on and off stage but would never come up to the mike and sing. |

One thing for certain, neither God or anyone employed by Disney ever registered Mickey Mouse to vote. As I recall, those roaming in the desert didn't have achievers, I mean the Annointed One, to thank for a cradle to grave existence. Let see, the children of Israel roam the desert for forty years, while the Great Society, one of the liberal grand failures, has now been existence for over half a century. The real truth is that over at Big Government folks share fond memories of Andrew Breitbart. On the other hand, many of those, i.e ACORN members, 'blessed' by the Great Society are still behind the economy eight ball and constantly blaming others on their failures.

Just like HarleyD and me, Davy Jones thought his heart pains were "just heartburn" Link QUOTE Davy Jones thought chest pains were heartburn The Monkees star Davy Jones' daughter has shed light on her father's final days, revealing the singer was suffering chest pains in the days leading up to his fatal heart attack - but he dismissed the discomfort as indigestion. The 66 year old died at his Florida home on Feb. 29 as a result of an abnormal heart rhythm, caused by hardening or narrowing of the arteries. The "I'm a Believer" hitmaker's sudden passing shocked many fans and family members, especially his daughter Talia, who claims her father had just received a good bill of health from medics. She tells the National Enquirer, "My father just had all of these tests and everything came back great. He was told his heart was like a 25-year-old's. So when he continued to have pains in the chest area, he never thought it was anything but a bad case of heartburn. In fact, he needed more extensive testing to know what was going on." Luckily I had a nurse at home who wouldn't let me wait it out to see if the heartburn went away on it's own. That and the many small blood vessels that had grown around the narrowing of my LAD (left anterior descending artery) kept my 100% blockage of the "Widowmaker" from living up to it's name. |

A rather bizarre thought from Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees on the deaths of his brothers Andy and Maurice:
![]() QUOTE Robin Gibb wonders if cancer, losses are karma Bee Gees star Robin Gibb believes his cancer battle and the loss of his brothers are the heavy prices he has to pay for fame and fortune. The star, who has been battling colon cancer for 18 months, was first hit with tragedy in 1980 when his younger brother Andy died. Gibb's twin Maurice also passed away in 2003 due to complications from a twisted intestine, a condition he also suffers from. And Gibb wonders whether his disease battle and heartache are payback for his hugely successful career. He tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "I sometimes wonder if the tragedies my family has suffered are a kind of karmic price for all the fame and fortune the Bee Gees have had. But we've worked hard for everything we've achieved." However, the star insists his own health woes and his brothers' deaths have made him aware of his own mortality - and he appreciates his life all the more. He says, "I am not and never have been at death's door. The illness, and the untimely death of my brothers, has made me conscious of the fact that - rather than just think about it - it's crucial that you do today what you want to do." "I've got a sense of urgency about life, rather than withdrawing from it and feeling depressed." "Now I know how precious time is, and that you can't put it in the bank. So I intend to make the most of every single second of it that I've got left." Oh, those wacky Brits! Although I do agree with the second half of his thoughts... |
