What stores are you visting on BF 2005?

Last year my FIL and I had good luck at OD and Staples. OM, BB, CC and CompUSA were insane - I'm not getting up at 2 AM. I'll probably do OD and Staples again and hit the rest online.

Where are people hitting this year?

Last year, I was in & out of Sears in 5 minutes flat. mango.gif

Then onto OD & Staples, then I hit traffic gridlock and decided to bypass Compusa & Best Buy. Finally made it to Omax before the doors opened, grabbed the chair I was after, did a quick leap over a desk to get to the empty register on the far left & out the door in a few minutes. Then home to do the rest online in warm & dry comfort.

But a major part of it is based on the weather, it can be downright cold & windy in late November. blink.gif

Somehow i've been sucked into going to lowe's the last few years. Ace Hardware was better in 2003 than 2004. So, we'll see how that turns out.

I used to go to BB and a few others, but it gets too busy around here so i haven't gone in a few years. I might try Circuit City this year if they have something decent.

And like everyone else said..we'll see what the ads bring...

Who knows maybe even OM will have a resurrection from the dead. tongue.gif

Oh yeah, I forgot about Sears - we got there early enough to get the $10 gift cards - I got a free halogen worklight smile.gif

BB -- Definitely not a first choice. There's an insane crowd there. Not worth it.
CC -- Maybe. They had good DVD / CD media sales last year.
Staples -- Yeah. Definitely.
OD -- Looking forward to. Starting this year.
All other stores (incl Sears, Target & Wallyworld) -- If only I had the energy and time.

Lets see how the ads come out this year.

At least around here, K Mart is not open Thanksgiving day. They do offer the sale prices on Black Friday though.

Yep. Every year there is a story on the local news of angry folks who drove all the way to Kmart to buy the heavily advertised Thanksgiving Day deals, only to find MA & RI Kmarts closed for Turkey Day.

I've gone to Staples twice, and it was just in 2004 that they introduced the Easy Rebates, and I have to say, it really does make BF a lot more pleasurable. Not to mention you don't have to get there at 2AM to get anything unlike Best Buy.

Unless Best Buy has an absolutely killer deal, I'm probably going to Staples this year. Short lines, lots of FAR stuff, I was out in 20 minutes last year... still had time to make it to OfficeMax before they opened at 7, actually biggrin.gif

Since I'm on call on Thanksgiving I'm stuck in hospital until at least noon, so if I have a bad call night I'll have been awake for 30 hours - yeah, like saving $30 bucks on a DVD player at Best Buy will be a priority blink.gif

Most likely I'm heading to Sears or Best Buy and picking up a TV and that's it unless Staples has leftover goodies and I can escape work a tad before noon.

At least I won't be freezing my jumblies off like you right-coasters.
