I actually stopped before, used to be you're unable to "buy" stuff using your points only, you can use a certain amount of points and you need to pay the rest, I just found out last week that you can start purchasing stuff just by using points now, and to think I have 2000+ points just expired last month. I got that e-mail as well.
I'm now wondering if I'll get the benefit on the order that I had just placed for the PS Vita that I have in hand as of Saturday past. I ordered it on Thursday past, which was in the window of time for the order requirements, but before I could ever have possibly signed up for the bonus since the e-mail came later. I doubt I'll get the 5,000 points but oh well, maybe I'll just go ahead and order something that I could use that would get me the bonus and just buy the points for that purchase. I just made a purchase of a Playstation network card for $50 or 5000 points and wonder if the "And if you don't have 5,000 points, you can buy points for cash at checkout for a penny a point." means that I will get the 5,000 bonus points. I hope so I only had $20 worth of points and had to purchase $30 with my card and would never have earned enough points to make a 5,000 points without purchasing any by 3/31/12. I'll let everyone know if I did. Feel free to give your thoughts on this. By the way the shipment was electronic and now I have zero points.

The $50 PSN code is 5000 points. Also, the fine print says this excludes "gift cards". I presume this does NOT count as a gift card, but that seems debatable. I JUST cancelled my free one month of PSN plus, and didn't finish the free game I got that I cared about a little bit (Back to the Future). I wasn't likely to sign up for PSN plus since I don't play games TOO often... but this deal seems to me that effectively you're getting $50 for free.. and a year of PSN plus is $49.99.
