Way back when IL had a legal age of 19 for beer and most rural IL bars it was a wink and a nod, often we would stop at White Castle before heading home. At one time, White Castle required one to put a dime in the door to use the rest room. Of course if you came out and someone was waiting, you didn't let the door close.
Supposedly at other NYC businesses abused by the OWS lowlives the employees have found nasty underwear left behind in the restrooms. Starbucks closing some restrooms? QUOTE There were two main reasons for the change, according to the Post. The restrooms got awfully dirty and sometimes needed repairs two to three times a week, and employees had to wait in the restroom lines along with everyone else. They could probably cut in line, but that makes customers angry.

This is just a fraction of the award decided by a TX jury against a short eye perv earlier this week. However, Starbucks and the franchise operator will have the money to pay this CA couple, while the TX jury knew the guy (age 14 at the time) who set a younger boy on fire will never be financially able to begin to fulfill the judgment.
Cup of Woe: Starbucks Ordered to Pay $7.5M QUOTE Starbucks initially offered a $100,000 settlement to Zaccaglin; he declined to accept that proposal, however, said Zaccaglin's attorney John Gomez.
After two and a half weeks in court, a jury returned a verdict against Starbucks on Friday, awarding $6,456,230.50 to Zaccaglin. His wife was awarded $1 million for loss of consortium, or the loss of her husband’s love, companionship, comfort and care. The total amount could grow to as much as $8.5 million, including added costs, Gomez said. This post has been edited by kas: 12-23-11, 5:32pm |

Not too bright to have a grand nearby, if you're vacationing Supreme Court Justice with a home in an area with a criminal problem. The situation with any business that serves customers late night is whether robbers will take the money and fled or put everyone in the walk-in and kill 'em. I've seen weapons come out from behind the bar and other hiding places at both IL and MO drinking establishment.
QUOTE Starbucks pulled into gun debate A group that aims to reduce gun violence says it is boycotting the coffee giant Tuesday because Starbucks has not stopped customers from bringing guns into stores when the law allows it. Starbucks has the legal right to ban guns, the National Gun Victim's Action Council says. The group has sent an open letter to Starbucks with its complaints. That boycott didn't sit well with some gun owners, and some said they would visit Starbucks Tuesday to show their support. The gun owners have even created their own "I love guns and coffee" shirts, with an image of a gun-totin' Starbucks mermaid mascot to boot. Starbucks seems to be trying to stay out of the issue. The company, which complies with local gun-control laws, said that all of its U.S. stores are open Tuesday and business is normal. "Our long-standing approach to this issue remains unchanged and we abide by the laws that permit open carry in 43 U.S. states," the company said in a statement. "Where these laws don't exist, openly carrying weapons in our stores is prohibited." Investors were unfazed by the gun debate. Starbucks shares were essentially flat Tuesday, closing at $49.12. http://money.msn.com/top-stocks/post.aspx?...22-d4bc8a93f7b5 |

Ochocinco Robbed For Starbucks Card QUOTE "I earned the gold card," Ochocinco said. "You know how many coffees I've had to drink and lemon loafs I've had to purchase to get to that gold card? Like, I had $220 left on my Starbucks card. Not just any Starbucks card, but a gold Starbucks card."

Both my mother's parent were waked in the house, which now some farmer uses as storage. There was something probably stronger then tea or java served to the vistors. It's made from potatoes and called poitín. |

So how's the 'local' java chain doing? Like Charter Communication, the Bread Co. bigshots are living on the East Coast.
QUOTE Panera reports 24 percent profit increase in Q2 Profits at Sunset Hills-based Panera Bread Co. rose 24 percent in the second quarter ending June 26. Net income for those 13 weeks was $44.1 million, or $1.50 a share, compared to $35.7 million, or $1.18 a share in the same period a year ago. Total revenue in the quarter rose 18 percent to $530.6 million, up from $451 million. "We believe that our disciplined approach to continued investment in the bakery-cafes has resonated with our customers and has resulted in true concept differentiation as we strive to be the best competitive alternative in the businesses we serve," Bill Moreton, the company's co-CEO, said in a statement. http://www.stltoday.com/business/local/pan...1a4bcf6878.html This post has been edited by kas: 7-24-12, 5:42pm |
